1. What compositional element(s) did you choose? How did the compositional element(s) add to the meaning or purpose of the photograph?
The compositional elements I choose for this photograph were rule of thirds and leading lines. The subject of the photo, my friend Caroline, is in rule of thirds and the Golden Gate Bridge has leading lines that lead up to her. This adds to the meaning of the photograph because she is highlighted.
2. Do you think you were successful in translating your thoughts into a visual form? What aspects of the photograph lead you to the conclusion?
I don't think I was successful in translating my thoughts into visual form. Because while there is good composition, I believe the photograph doesn't really tell much of a story. The main reason why the photograph didn't turn out how I intended was the Caroline wasn't in focus. The camera put the bridge and the background of the photograph in focus and I didn't catch it until I was editing it.
3. What would you do differently if you did it again?/What would make it better?
If I took this photograph again I would make sure that Caroline was in focus. I would also try and stage it so that there was more of a story that was told.
